It's time for another ornament pattern! This week I am happy to share this crochet gingerbread ornament house with you! Aren't they cute! I am hoping you'll enjoy making these too! This is a quick and fun little project, and it won't take you long to make a gingerbread house! I could not stop, so I made five! However, I gave one away, so there are only four in the picture below.
The crochet gingerbread house is made like the other ornament patterns that I've released over the last weeks. They all have the same ragdoll style and they are all made with single crochet and bobble stitches. You can find the link to all the other free patterns if you scroll. If you never have crocheted bubble stitches before, don't be alarmed, I've also made a video tutorial where I am showing you how to crochet the gingerbread house.

The Yarn
The house is crocheted with a 3.0 mm crochet hook. I am using a German yarn called Schahenmayr and if you want to check out this yarn, you can click on the link below. This is a great yarn and I use it for most of my ornament projects.
I love this yarn because it doesn't split and it has a nice shine to it. This is not sponsored, so this is my own, personal opinion.
Other Christmas ornaments patterns
Be sure to check out the other ornament patterns that are available on the blog! These are all free patterns and I hope you'll check them out and maybe make another ornament or two! They go great together and they are all quick and easy to make! I have donated most of my ornaments. I want to make a couple of trees and stocking for my self. I love creating Christmas patterns, I think I could do that for a long time before getting tired.

Information about the pattern
The gingerbread house and the pipe will be made in rows and consists of two panels. They are crocheted separately and then the pieces are placed on each other and crocheted together. I stuffed my gingerbread house lightly before closing it. The topping of the roof is made with bobble stitches. This stitch is explained below.
Skill level: Advanced beginner
Finished size: 9 cm, 3.51 inches
How to make the bobble stitch -BO
Chain 3. Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, repeat for a total of 5 times, until you have pulled up 5 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all loops. SC in the next stitch.
The pictures are from a different pattern, but the principle is the same.
How to crochet panels together.
Lay the panels for the gingerbread house on each other, with the face towards you. With white yarn: CH 1. 1 SC though both panels through the entire house. Put 2 SC in each corner. SL ST in the first SC to fasten off. Leave a long tail for fastening.
The pictures are from a different pattern, but the principle is the same.
House
Make two panels in gingerbread house color
R 1: CH 11, turn, 1 SC in the second CH from the hook and across, CH 1, turn = 10 SC
R 2 – 8: 10 SC, CH 1, turn (7 rows) = 10 SC
R 9: SC DEC, 6 SC, SC DEC, CH 1, turn = 8 SC
R 10: SC DEC, 4 SC, SC DEC, CH 1, turn = 6 SC
R 11: SC DEC, 2 SC, SC DEC, CH 1, turn = 4 SC
R 12: SC DEC x 2, CH 1, turn = 2 SC
R 13: SC DEC, CH 1, turn = 1 SC
R 14: 1 SC
CH 1, fasten off.
Make the other panel. When you have finished the second panel, don’t fasten off. Attach safety eyes between the rows 3-4, 5 SC space apart.
Sew on a little mouth with red yarn, and blush with pink yarn. Put the panels away and make the candy.
Candy
In three different candy colors.
Crochet in rounds. Make 3.
Rnd 1: 5 SC in a magic ring, SL ST in first SC = 5 SC
Fasten off. Leave a tail for attaching.
Sew the candy on the roof of the house and crochet the panels together. See page 3.
Pipe
In gingerbread house color. Make 2 panels
Crochet in rows.
R 1: CH 4, turn, 1 SC in the 2nd CH from the hook and in the next 2 = 3 SC
R 2-4: 3 SC, CH 1, turn (3 rows) = 3 SC
Fasten off. Make the other panel. When you have finished the second panel, don’t fasten off. Lay the panels on each other and SC them together. Put 2 SC in each corner. I recommend weaving ends before joining them.
Topping for the roof
With white yarn:
Turn the work around, so the face is facing down. On the right side of the roof:
CH 3, 1 BO in the same ST, 1 SC in next. * 1 BO in next, 1 SC in next* Repeat 6 more times. Fasten off with a SL ST in the next ST.
To hang up your gingerbread house.
Attach some white yarn on the top, on the backside. CH 15, SL ST in the first CH. Fasten off and weave in all ends. Sew the pipe on the roof.
