Hello friends! Today I am popping on here to show you what I have been working on, another ghost for Halloween. Here is a cute and squishy crochet ghost, designed by Jillian over at Spin a Yarn crochet.

ghost for Halloween

I saw this on Pinterest and could not resist! So I went searching to find the right yarn for this project. I was looking for something soft and squishy. Luckily, I did’t have to search long!

Last year I bought this thick snuggle yarn from a German brand called Gründle and this yarn turned out to be perfect for this ghost!

Spin a Yarn Crochet

Jillian from Spin a Yarn crochet is a talented designer that has so many cute ragdoll and amigurumi patterns on her blog. I am sure you have seen her work! Her patterns are fun, easy, and most of all cute! This is actually the first time I have been making one of her patterns and I had so much fun making this cute crochet ghost. You can find the free pattern for the ghost here!

I started to make this in the afternoon, and I think it took me roughly 20 minutes to work up the first panel. The yarn that I used is much thicker than in the pattern, so I sized up to a 5 mm hook. The result was a cuddle sized ghost. It measures about 27 cm/10,5″. Big enough to go as a little cushion for the couch!

The pattern was very easy to follow and clearly written. Jillian also included some helpful step-by-step photos. I especially liked the “tail” shaping and the arms. It’s nice to only make two pieces and crochet them together, without extra limbs to sew on.

Here are some of the materials that I used. I am not sure if you can find the same yarn in other countries, but just go to Yarnsub.com and see if you find something similar.

This ghost will go great with the small ones that I made a couple of weeks ago and now I have my Halloween decorations ready!

Isn’t this angry toilet roll mummy cute? Made by Benjamin, 7 years old

My son also loves DIY projects, so this weekend we made some toilet roll mummies and such. I’ll teach him to crochet too, if and when he wants to do that someday. It’s nice to get kids involved in crafts so they get to explore their creative side! Here are a few pictures some of our makes from last week. We where browsing on Pinterest and got inspired!

My partner in crime, Lily. She also likes to play with yarn and watch me crochet. Sometimes she’ll get too tempted and goes after my yarn:)

I hope that you got inspired to make some ghosts and maybe other Halloween projects as well. There is still time!
