These little crochet ghosts are only about 10 cm tall (4"), so these are very quick to make! Please share your finished ghost with me on Instagram.

Materials

For this little crochet ghost, you are just going to need some white sports weight yarn.

I used a 2.5 mm crochet hook in this pattern, but you choose whatever fits the yarn that you're using. I love the hooks from clover!

For all the patterns that are being released during this CAL, you'll need a small amount of yarn in grey, orange, black, green, and purple. Also, I used 10 mm safety eyes.

About the pattern.
The ghost is made in rows. Two separate pieces are being crocheted, then placed on each other and crocheted together. The arms are made in continuous rounds and they are made separately and the skirt is being crocheted on the ghost at the end.  The finished ghost is about 10 cm/ 4 inches tall.  Difficulty level: Advanced beginners

Body

Crochet in rows.

The ghost is crocheted from bottom up. Make 2 panels. Chain 1 and turn after each row. In white yarn:

Row 1:  Ch 3, 1 sc in each ch= 2 sc

Row 2: sc inc x 2 = 4 sc

Row 3:  sc inc, 2 sc, sc inc = 6 sc

Row 4:  sc inc x 2, 4 sc = 8 sc

Row 5: sc dec, 5 sc, sc inc = 8 sc

Row 6: sc inc x 2, 4 sc, sc dec = 9 sc

Row 7: sc inc, 8 sc = 10 sc

Row 8: 9 sc, sc inc = 11 sc

Row 9: sc inc, 10 sc = 12 sc

Row 10: sc inc, 10 sc, sc inc = 14 sc

Row 11: 14 sc

Row 12: sc inc, 12 sc, sc inc = 16 sc

Rows 13-17: 16 sc (5 rounds)

Row 18: sc dec, 12 sc, sc dec = 14 sc

Row 19: sc dec, 10 sc, sc dec = 12 sc

Row 20: sc dec, 8 sc, sc dec = 10 sc

Row 21: sc dec, 6 sc, sc dec = 8 sc

Row 22: sc dec, 4 sc, sc dec = 6 sc

Fasten off. Cut the yarn of the first panel, but not on the second one. Make the face on the second part.  Attach safety eyes between rows 14-15, 5 sc stitches part. (or whatever you like best). If you wish, make eyelashes or eyebrows with some black, thinner sports weight yarn. If you want to make eyelashes, sew them on before attaching the back part of the safety eyes.  Sew on blush under the eyes. I used orange yarn for the blush.

Remember to add stuffing before closing. Stuff lightly, not too firm! If you want to hang up your ghost.

Before closing the upper part: When you are in the middle on the top, chain 14, sl st in the first st. Continue to single crochet the ghost together.

Arms

Worked in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker and move it up as you go.

Rnd 1: 4 sc in a mr =4 sc

Rnd 2: (1 sc, sc inc) x 2 = 6 sc

Rnd 3: (1 sc, sc inc) x 3 = 9 sc

Rnd 4-5. 9 sc.

Sl st in the first st. Pinch the arm flat and close the hole with single crochet.

Sew the arms on the side between rows 8-11.

Skirt

Attach some white yarn just below the arms with the ghost upside down and its head facing towards you. *Ch 2, 1 dc, 1 hdc, sl st in next st* Repeat 3 more times. Sl st and fasten off.
