Crochet Heart for Valentine's day

I was going to make something for Valentine's day. At first, I made a simple heart, which was cute, but it needed the little extra, so I decided to make a cute face with big eyes. And then it turned into a ragdoll heart!

I really do enjoy making fun patterns! Fun and quick patterns my favorite to make and design and I hope that you'll like it too! These crocheted hearts would make cute coasters as well! Just make one heart panel and crochet around it and you're done!

These crocheted hearts are so fast to make and I think I needed less than an hour to make one. If you want to, you can make limbs as well, I haven't done that on mine yet. You can use the same pattern for the limbs as I used on the ragdoll berry pattern last year.

You can make this crochet heart in all kinds of colors and also do striped ones. As always, I can't wait to see your versions! Please tag me on Instagram or join our Facebook group and show us your finished ragdoll heart!

Print-friendly version

You can scroll down for the free pattern, or you can purchase the print-friendly PDF version on Etsy or Ravelry. The PDF costs you less than a coffee on Starbucks and in that way you can support my little business a little extra:) Thank you!

Big safety eyes

I used big safety eyes for this crochet heart. If you want the same look, you need to get the biggest size, 20 mm.

Cut the yarn and fasten off. Attach yarn on the other side.

Repeat rows 16-21 on the other side.

Make another heart don’t finish off, so you can continue to join the hearts together after making the eyes.

Eye balls

Make 2

Row 1: Ch 6, turn, 5 sc, ch 1 turn = 5 sc

Row 2 - 5: 5 sc, ch 1 turn, repeat for 4 rows = 5 sc

Row 6: sc2tog, 1 sc, sc2tog, ch 1, turn = 3 sc

Row 7: sc2tog, 1 sc, ch 1, turn = 2 sc

Row 8: sc2tog = 1 sc

Sc around the eye balls. Place 2 sc in each corner.

Fasten yarn. Leave a long strand for attaching the eyes on the heart.

Assembly

Fasten safety eyes on the white eyeballs.

Fasten the eyes on one of the hearts and sew on a mouth. Lie the hearts on top of each other and crochet the pieces together. When you get to the tip of the heart, chain 3 and sl st in the first ch. This will make it pointier. Don’t forget to stuff lightly before closing.

Bow

Row 1: Chain 10, turn, 1 sc in the 2nd loop from the hook and in each stitch, ch 1 turn = 9 sc

Row 2-4: 1 sc in each stitch, ch 1, turn = 9 sc

Single crochet around the entire bow. Put 2 sc in each corner.

Sl st in the first sc and cut the yarn. Use a long strand to wire it firmly around the bow. Weave in ends but leave a long strand for fastening.
