The first part of the party animal crochet along is ready, here is the party animal Haakon! As the name Sverre, Haakon is a royal name in Norway. In case you didn’t know, the Crown Prince is called Haakon Magnus and he has a son called Sverre. I thought it would be fun to use some more royal names in my patterns 😀
This is a quick and fun animal pattern and it is crocheted with a 4.5 mm/E4 crochet hook, so Haakon is quick to make, too! However, you can use any size of the hook that you prefer!
I have also made other fun and quick amigurumi patterns that you can check out. They are free, too!

Haakon belongs to the party animals which I will release on the blog over the next weeks. I have three patterns with this theme planed, and this is the first one.
This crochet animal pattern is easy to follow and pretty quick to make. Feel free to experiment with your own colors and such to make your little animal unique.
I added a spiral on the top of his head (hat) and changed colors to make a striped sweater.
What kind of animal is it?
I was actually going for a fantasy animal pattern, but it looks more like a mixture between a lamb and a bunny!
The yarn
I used Paintbox Simply Aran for this project. It’s a soft medium worsted yarn and it’s great for amigurumis. There are so many gorgeous colors to choose from as well, and one skein has 100 g/3.50 oz and the yarn length is
184m (201yds). In other words, you get lots of yarn for your money!
But as usual, feel free to use the yarn that you prefer! I can totally see Haakon turn out great in a shimmery cotton yarn, too.
The hook
I used a 4.5 crochet hook for this animal pattern. Feel free to size up or down. The finished size of mine is 23 cm/9 inches, so notice that your edition will be smaller/bigger if you change the size.
